Clean or Refinish?

Clean or Refinish?

Many fiberglass units can be cleaned/polished with professional cleaning solutions to restore them to their original beauty without refinishing the unit. The refinisher will be able to advise you whether the finish can be restored with cleaning or if it needs refinishing. Common household cleaners have a difficult time removing calcium deposits, water spots & soap build up, where the professional products might be able to remove them. If you have a new unit, it can be maintained so that it will never have problems with calcium deposits, water spots and soap build up.
To maintain a new unit (or one that is newly refinished), use only NON-ABRASIVE liquid cleaners such as simple green, Fantastic, or any liquid cleaner that does NOT contain bleach. A non-abrasive cleaning pad should be used (one that would work on Teflon). Every 3 or 6 months depending on the quality of your water, a liquid “Gel Gloss” should be applied & that will protect any buildup from happening.
